The Sonosax web pages have been updated with details about several new products. The new SX-R4 recorder will offer 4 balanced XLR mic inputs, plus 2 analog line inputs and up to 8 digital inputs. Digitizing at rates up to 24/192, the SX-R4 will store data on an internal hard disc or a Compactflash card. The SX-R4 recorder will be somewhat smaller and lighter than the Sound Devices 744t. The recorder is expected to cost around $4500-$4800 USD when delivered in Autumn, 2007. (I take this to mean that the recorder won't be ready until Summer, 2008, and, due to falling value of the dollar, will cost about $5200.) The preliminary specs are found here: http://www.sonosax.ch/SXR4/SXR4.html --oryoki |
