Hi Gianni,

The noise floor of the K6/ME66 in the audible range (below 20 kHz)
should be the identical in both the phantom and battery powering mode.

If there is an audible difference, then there must be something wrong
with your individual microphones. A few years ago I purchased a used
K6/ME66 off eBay, which also produced an increased noise floor in the
battery powering mode. It was necessary to send it to Sennheiser for
repair (they replaced a damaged capacitor).

The noise component around 35 kHz (originating from the internal DC/DC
converter) is the normal behaviour of the K6 module. However, I see no
problem with that phenomenon because this kind of noise is completely
outside of the usable frequency range of this microphone.

I guess that you mean the old K3/ME80 here.
