Except for very long extension cord required, this hydrophone is truly
portable compared to the devices used for birdsong recording by Arthur
Allen and his crew. If I recall correctly they recorded the sound on film=
with the movietone process, and the whole outfit was built into a
truck. For the Ivory-bill recordings they moved the gear to a farm
wagon. Ludwig Koch also used truck-mounted recording gear for some early
recordings.
