Hello

My name is rinus and i live in the Netherlands
Just recently i joined this list , because i didn't know of the existence ,=
untill i heard it from someone

The equipment i have is a sony D-8 and a ecm-ms-907 sony microphone
also i have just recently bought a edirol r-09
i've recorded already a lot of sounds , all kinds of sounds and i like it v=
ery much, what i hear when i play them back
but now i want to record from greater distances and in greater detail

can anyone suggest a good directional microphone for recording nature sound=
s, as birds
so i can point the mike to the subject and exclude surrounding sounds

as i understand , a digital video camera with the mike supplied with it, r=
ecords the sounds with pcm standard
is that any good for recording these kind of sounds?
to what can pcm sound be compared?compressed mp3 ?
or wav of in between?
in other words what does pcm actually do to the sound?

thanks in advance
hope that anyone can help

greetings
rinus
