Record numbers of whooping cranes have returned to the Texas coast for the
winter. As few as 15 of the birds were seen in Texas in the 1940s. This
year, 237 birds made the trek to Texas from Canada

Aransas national wildlife refuge is a great place to record the Whooping
Crane, I was fortunate to get good recordings back in 1999.

I am so pleased these birds are increasing in numbers..
