Thank you Walter, for letting us know the details. May your good progress
continue and accelerate.

May I strongly endorse that advice.

I've been one of the lucky ones. In 2000 I consulted my GP on a totally
unrelated matter for which he ordered a blood test. Said, "We might as
well get everything checked at the same time." The PSA test indicated
prostate cancer despite my having had no symptoms whatever. Urologist
confirmed the cancer, and it was successfully treated by radiation, so I ha=
d
none of the suffering Walt's been through.

And if I may extend the advice - for those of advanced years (and not so
advanced, if anyone in your family has had bowel cancer): have a
colonoscopy. My wife too has been lucky. A few weeks back she had a
colonoscopy. A polyp was removed - "hot-wired" - and sent for pathological
examination. The head of the polyp was cancerous; the cancer had started t=
o
move down the stem of the polyp, but was still 1.5 mm away from the bowel
wall, and the Specialist is confident that the cancer has been completely
removed. (Annual colonoscopy indicated, from now on.)

Like prostate cancer, bowel cancer is a very unpleasant way to go.

Good health.

Syd
