I have a couple and dry them in the field only as a last resort. But yes, I=
 put the aluminum cased silica gel packet in a frying pan and saut=E9 it. J=
ust make sure you don't melt its container or the pan. It takes a while. No=
rmally you bring them home and put them in an oven for a couple of hours. I=
 keep a plastic bag inside my carrying case and put the stuff I have to kee=
p dry in the plastic with the silica gel. The less air  to dehumidify the b=
etter.
