Good questions. I have a few to add:
Which digital mics, other than Neumann D? Digital is a common buzzword
to sell gear - like Sony headphones have had a "digital" tag on them
for years but they are stictly analog. The manufacturers flacks use the
word as a comeon, when they might mean "compatible with digital" ...
Googling does not bring up and digital mics or speakers for that matter
- transducers are at least half analog, where they interfac with the
air...
If the mics are digital, the preamp is built in. Which recorders have
compatible digital inputs.?
But mostly, which mics do you mean...
