Hello all! I came across this group from the Naturesongs webpage. I
believe I recognize some names from other groups. My biggest hobby is
photography. You can see my work at the link below.

I got into sound recording through work. I do some sound editing,
mostly speech, for resale. For personal use, I often take my
photographs and put background sound behind them. I like to use
natural sounds primarily, rather than music. I do not have a fancy
setup. I use a Sony Minidisc recorder most times. At others, I use my
digital camera. I can then isolate the sound with Sound Forge editing
software.

All of that is a brief introduction. I cannot comment much on the
technical aspect of recording as I don't have enough knowledge. But I
do look forward to what sound files or links you might post.

I must say, I enjoyed the talk on the GHO squawk. I had a pair
calling out behind my house one evening a year or so ago and it was
great fun to stand out there and listen. I do have a recording of
that, but will have to do some digging to find it. I have just one
question. Is there any objection to posting it under the "files"
section here? I can remove it within a few days. If so, I will see
what else I can figure out.

Suzanne
