But to also be honest, when I read that article some time back the
music term of 6 db per octave didn't regester to me that it translates
to 20 db from 700 cycles to 7,000. I have 0 experience in the music
world.

Post eq is difficult and best done by ear.  It depends greatly on the
extent of off axis sound you wish to retain or not slaughter.
With the telinga stereo mic being used you have more of a problem with
the stereo field being off axis all the time and the reality of a
multiple diaphram mic system.
