Here's an update to the list of field preamps I posted earlier.
Thanks to all who nominated new machines to the list.
By my definition, a field preamp is powered by an internal battery,
and is small enough to fit into a jacket pocket.
These two criteria exclude some excellent preamps (Apogee MiniMe,
Grace Lunatec V2 and V3, DAV Electronics BG1, and others) that can be
used in the field if you're willing to carry an external battery and
deal with larger size and weight. I also chose to leave off a couple
of good candidates that are no longer in production (Sound Devices
MP-2, for example).
If you wish to post this list elsewhere, please state that the source
of the information is the NatureRecordists list on Yahoo. Thanks!
