Re: recording rig advice

Hmm, when posting some of my Schoeps sounds, was never my intention
to spark such heated exchanges.

Maybe we can all take a deep breath, and let this one go.

The fact is, I never took Rob's thoughts as indicating he alone was
critically doing anything. I admit, I don't subscribe to much of what
he said, and I don't have much interest in such minute assessments of
a mic. I like to record. I want to know technically about my gear to
a point, just not that far.

But the fact it, he's free to do so if it benefits his understanding
and enjoyment of the process. I don't hear the 'tones' in question
that started this thing, I don't subscribe to much of what was said
on both sides, but everyone is entitled to their own opinions.

But let's at least all try to keep it civil.

Hopefully if Kent has some free time, I'll convince him to come with
his Neuman rig, I'll borrow another 722, and we'll do a calibrated
recording of a Schoeps MS rig, a Neumann MS rig, and a Sennheiser MKH
MS rig. All on 722's, that it might be useful for anyone to just
'hear' what the different rigs sound like. And if Rob want to analyze
them, so be it, and I'll still be interested to read what he says.

Even if he IS listening on Sony v600 headphones, which are awful
headphones IMHO :)

That was a JOKE, by the way (well sort of, I much prefer my
Sennheiser phones)
