I gotta admit Rip, I'm a little skeptical about the health of this bird and
as for getting some audio of it, good luck...
I was offered a substantial amount of money (as a reward) for finding it an=
d
recording it. I declined the offer and told them it would be better off use=
d
for protecting its habitat instead of further threats to its so called
existence.
Mike Collins video is about as useless as all video I have seen of Bigfoot
and the Loch Ness Monster!! Although the IBW actually did exist!
Good luck in your travels...

Subject: [Nature Recordists] any Ivory-billed woodpecker experts, serachers
on this list?
Are there any IBW searchers, experts on this list? I am likely volunteering
on an official search in Texas, Loiusiana, this fall. Yes, way excited, and
I know my woodpeckers, Pileated well!!!
I have studied this bird for a longtime and am very interested in helping
get audio, video of it. I am convinced it still exists, and the audio "kent=
,
kent" clips researchers have gotten over the last 3 years has proven to be
the best evidence even over the short video clip from BigWoods, Arkansas.
I even turned in a report of 3 credible IBW sightings ( by college-educated
locals ) in southern WVA from 1980-2001 to Cornell Ornithithology lab befor=
e
the big IBW announcement in Feb. 2004.
has anyone seen Michael Collin's video, photos of purported IBW and what do
you think?
