I recently recorded sounds of a maternal roost of a bat species, the Southeastern Myotis (Myotis austroriparius). The roost is in a hollow tree in Congaree National Park, South Carolina. I recorded the sounds of the roost using a Sennheiser ME 62 and a Marantz PMD 660. The recording has not been filtered. I just squatted at the hollow base of the tree and held the mic just inside the hollow. The bats were several meters up, inside the tree. I tried to upload this recording to the Naturerecordists files, but was not successful. I will have it on my personal web site for a while: http:home.sc.rr.com/graykingbird Robin Carter Columbia, SC USA |
