You're welcome. I've got about 12 hours of stuff...
I didn't mention two other technical mishaps. At Paliku I tripped
over a cable and pulled one of the two MD recorders off the table.
Fortunately it was fine, but the mic input Y-adaptor was bent. When I
tried to bend it back it shorted to mono. I left it bent and it
worked fine the rest of the trip.
When I started up recording in the middle of the night at Holua, the
MD gave me a message "system error" that I've never seen before. Then
it booted up normally. After I started rolling I noticed that the MD
was in its default make-a-track-every-few-minutes mode. That can be
reset while recording. What I didn't discover till I checked my level
on my way up the hill the next day was that the error had also re-set
the record level down from 15 where I wanted it to 10. That recording
and the following dawn recordings were made 10dB low. I haven't had a
chance to check whether I took a noise hit for that.
