It's hard to argue against the field performance of a Pelican case, and they are available in the currently fashionable desert tan color for your tactical deployments. If complete waterproofness is not needed, check out the Porter Case product line. They weigh about half what the similar size Pelican case weighs, but still are plenty tough. The PC2 and Elite models are carry-on size. If you need a case that can double as floatation equipment, then you might consider Fuerte Case. They were originally designed for scuba diving folks, so they are every bit as waterproof as the Pelican line. The Fuerte cases are thinner than Pelican, so they are lighter, and less expensive.
