Figure 8 mics

I recall in casual conversation with Davud Josephson, asking why his
company had not produced a figure 8 mic, he lamented also that
deveoping a good, small, quiet fig 8 is just very diificult, and there
are few choices of capsules available - thus he recommended the
Sennheiser as the best implementation in a small portable mic... It's
not that they are uninterested in developing them but it is a big
technical challenge. Wish I understaood why better!
