I don't know of another bird that forms the high altitude flocks in the unison manuvers that starlings do. I have seen a number of very large flocks of other species fly in unison but not with the cloud that starlings form. It has been about 30 years since starling flocks reached flocks of over 1,000 in my area. The reason is that they are considered invasive aliens by farmers and the USDA. For a number of years there has been wide spred poisoning and traping of starling flocks in the US. The main poison DRC-1339 use to be marketed as "Starlicide".
