The 722 does have a timer start and stop function. It only works for a single event, however. By using a programmable timer (like a lawn sprinkler) to control the external DC power, it appears to be possible to record on a longer schedule. For example, you might want to record at dawn and dusk for a week. Or you might want to record every hour for 10 minutes. I agree that (1) it would be great if a timer with multiple settings were part of the 722 firmware, and (2) it takes a brave fellow to leave his 722 alone in the forest for a week! --oryoki |
