Some MP3 players can serve as an emergency backup for your regular recorder. Several MP3 models have an input jack for recording a line level signal. You'll need an external amplifier to record from a mic. Examples include the Maycom MicTube http://www.solidstatesound.co.uk/maycom_mictube.htm and the Sound Professionals portable mic pre-amp http://www.soundprofessionals.com/cgi-bin/gold/item/SP-PREAMP-1 A small number of MP3 players have input for recording from a microphone-level signal. |
