It would sure be nice to know what you discovered, but it sounds like
you are hesitant to share publicly the answer to your mystery. 
You believe you have made an important scientific discovery, but you
are anxious your name might not get credit, and you are also afraid if
you publish your recordings they might be stolen and used for profit
by others.  
No harm in taking necessary time to weigh consequences, document your
discovery, and identify the appropriate methods for releasing your
findings. 
When you are ready, please let us know what it was.
