Re: Jaguar Sounds

I was at the end of my mic cables - about 30 ft. distant. The jaguar,
bless his otherwise well-fed soul, was right on mic as far as I can
determine based on the discrimination of the various breaths and
gutteral sounds. I was afraid to spook it with my flashlight so I
never actually saw the critter. But it had been following me down the
trail as I wandered in the jungle around 1:00 that morning. I know
that because I never outpaced the pungent scent of its frequent
markings as it moved silently and parallel to my aimless direction -
surely not more than a few feet away from me over a period of 15 or
20 minutes. I'm quite sure it was a male because of the power of the
scent and being familiar with their stalking habits.
