Anyone have any recommendations for where to get ready-made
wind protection (foam cover/windshield and softie) for NT1As? I
tried Reinhardt's offerings
(www.reinhardt-film.com/new/which_one.html), but sizewise
they're non-starters and are going straight back. It turns out the
VXF and VXL shield and sock advertised on that page are not
specifically for the NT1As but for a range of "larger studio and
stage microphones". Well, with a 30 mm internal diameter
stretching to about 40 mm the foam windshields just do not
stretch to the lower parts of the mic's grille as it nears the rim of
the barrel - which is 50 mm diameter. About two-thirds way down
the foam locks firmly on to the grille and won't be budged.
I need something which will allow enough clearance at the back
so one can use the mics in their shockmounts. And no big wind
expected -- this is mainly precautionary. I'll be out in a sheltered
area, a wood.
Many thanks,

PS on gear talk. Oryoki, thanks for recent posting on Edirol R4.
I'm trying one. Gear tips on this forum can be extremely helpful
(as well as terminally frustrating).
