Hi there Jerry
Greetings from the UK
I agree with Rob D on the usefullness of the Radio Shack PZM boundary
mics for recording outdoors if suitable sheltered sites are
available. Of course the surface you mount them on becomes the
boundary, so will pick up all sound reflected off it. Very useful in
some circumstances but a bit of a problem if you are near a flight
path. Try house walls upstairs between the windows, shed roofs etc.
Avoid mounting to close to a perpendicular surface as they begin to
behave like a PCC and some strange out of phase delays occur. If only
posts are available, mount each mic in the centre of a backing board
of marine ply before fixing to the post. The larger the board the
more you will pick up. Play with the angles and distances between the
mics and adjust for best results. You can create a very wide sound
picture but beware of hole-in-the-middle effects.
If you have no mixer or phantom power available you can rewire to a
HP7/PP3 type 9v battery by soldering a snap-cap battery connector to
the AA terminals which increases the s/n ratio dramaticaly. It realy
makes them an excellent low cost very useable boundary mic.
Unfortunately we don't get Radio Shack/Tandy in the UK any more, they
have all become carfone wharehouses!

Good weather to your ears
I love recording a crackling thunder storm!
