Question about switching/staying with same microphone mid-project

Subject: Question about switching/staying with same microphone mid-project

Hi all:

You may recall I have been recording panda vocalizations with a Tascam
DA-P1 and an AT835b Line + Gradient Condenser mic. This spring we will
be doing recordings at more than one location, and I need to obtain a
second microphone (we have a second DAT recorder). Do you think that
it would be best to stick with the same model mic for consistency in
recordings? I worry that changing to something else with a different
frequency response, etc. may introduce an additional confound into our
analyses.

Thanks =)

Estelle
