>microphone input needed to achieve 0 dB VU Just a technical note; the writer of the Sonic Studios review seems to use the term "VU meter" interchangeably with "record level meter." They are not the same thing. "VU meter" means an average-responding meter with a 300 ms rise and fall time. Most digital devices, including the MicroTrack, so far as I know, have peak meters, not VU meters. The writer is further confused when he or she writes "average" referring to the bargraph record level meter on the MicroTrack. As far as I can tell, the meter is an instantaneous peak meter with a peak hold indication. No average involved. -Dan Dugan p.s. May 1, 2006, will be the 67th birthday of the VU (volume unit) meter. -dD- ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ |
