Grant's story reminds me of the time after hooting for Spotted Owls (profes=
sional by voice), my field partner and I were listening to some Scott Jopli=
n piano rolls. A family of 8 Northern Saw Whet Owls came in a started sawin=
g in rhythm to the music, not wanting to disturb them we turned off the mus=
ic and they made a strange sound like they were disappointed and flew off. =
We turned the music back on and they came back in and really seemed to enjo=
y being part of the concert.

On a "positive" note about playback, I noticed recently that some of=20
the birds that live in my back yard start calling like crazy whenever=20
i'm editing my recordings. They also appear to be fond of reggae and=20
african music! Just an observation...

Grant.
