The recording was made by Jon Pollock, an English primatologist who studied the species for months some years ago and got really close to several habitauted groups (Pollock JI: The song of the indris (Indri indri; Primates: Lemuroidea): Natural history, form, and. function. Int J Primatol 1986;7:225-264). In this recording, you hear not only the typical wails but the raucous calls normally head close up.
