It has a large (26mm) diaphragm which may make off axis sounds not flat
in frequency response. Smaller diaphragms are generally better for
non-close micing.
One of my favorite mics in this price range is the Rode NT3.
Hypercardioid pattern, for longer reach, and as a stereo pair they can
sound wonderful - I imagine in a parabolic they would be nearly a
shotgun!
