Dear Naturerecordists,

I am using Pro 5 Telinga Twin Science mic and Sony PCM-M1 dat recorder for =
recording bird sounds. I have found that with O db attenuation setting of r=
ecorder the recordings get distorted, which was not the case with earlier m=
ic Telinga Pro 2. I feel this is because of high gain of Pro 5 mic. I want =
to know experience of fellow recorders. Do generally recordists use Db 20 s=
etting of Sony PCM-M1 recorder while using telinga Pro 5 mic ? What are pro=
s and cons of using attenuation in recorders?=A0I will be grateful for resp=
onse.

Pratap Singh
