M-Audio has officially announced the Microtrack 24/96, a new field recorder that looks very promising. Take a look here: http://m-audio.com/products/en_us/MicroTrack-main.html A few specs that caught my attention: diminutive dimensions, truly pocket-size lithium-ion rechargeable battery lasts up to 8 hours WAV recording at up to 24/96, also high bit rate MP3 Compactflash recording medium two balanced 1/4" TRS mic inputs that can provide phantom power one stereo 1/8" jack with minidisc-style plug-in power two level meters with peak indicator List price is $600, but several online retailers are offering the Microtrack 24/96 for $400. It should be available in August. --oryoki ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ |
