comparing stock and modified PMD660

Concert taper guru Doug Oade had developed two modifications ("basic"
and "advanced") to the Marantz PMD660 that address the recorder's
noisy pre-amp section.  Follow the link below to download files that

The first two are FLAC files of Georgia night sounds.  The third is a
WAV file comparing the sound recorded by the three versions of the
PMD660 with no mic attached and the preamp volume turned all the way
up.  They make for interesting listening.
