Back when I had just completed my SASS I put up some thunder recordings,
they are linked off my SASS page:

Eastern GA piedmont near Augusta. The lightning originates high in the
clouds above me and strikes the ground at considerable distance.
Recorded from within the cab of my truck, so some extra reverberation
from that.
