An HiMD formatted disk will mount and do file exchange on the OSX desktop so one could upload some compatible soundfiles to a HiMD disc (like converted .wavs but not sony's raw OMA's) and play them from disc on a mac through a UA-30. Don't see why this would be a problem. Otherwise, there's not much else you can do with the HiMD <-> OSX combination if I understand your question correctly.
