Sorry to hear that, Rich and Rob.
As an alternative, or for those who are new (or old) and still wish
to have some field experience, I'm leading a Yosemite soundscape
recording trip June 10 - 12th this year. More information can be
found on the Yosemite Association web site: http://www.yosemite.org.
This field trip is listed under Natural History and is #61 titled
"Wild Soundscapes."
There is also a Nature Sounds Society recording and field trip
planned a week later in the Sierras. It is a wonderful and informed
group attended and insightfully informed by Dan Dugan and Rudy
Trubitt among many others well-versed in this arena.
