~ 5 hours on the large Sony "L" 7000mah batteries is what SD was
reporting in Dec.  I get 8+ hours on  12 volt 9500mah nimh bats on
the 744T and it pulls a bit more juice.You can search the web for
bargains on both the Sony oem bats and the replacements.  There are a
several third party chargers that come with a cigarette lighter
adapter for car use.
