Anyone know of a solution to the following problem? When recording into the line input of the Sony MZ-NH1 HiMD, the track numbers are automatically incremented when the signal drops below a certain level for a few seconds. Is there a way to override that automatic= feature (other than using the mic input)? (As a backup recorder this summer, I wanted to try to use the high= quality preamps in the Sound Devices MixPre and the line input to the Sony= HiMD, but with all of those unwanted track numbers, this plan doesn't work.= . . . OK, so I should buy a 722 or 744.) Best regards . . .
