I am wiring cables for my mini disk and need to decide if I should
use straight or angled connectors.
I have seen posts recommending angled connector but I question if
that is a good idea. My thoughts are that the angle connector will
probably rotate in the jack if force is applied at an angle and that
will produce noise as the connector moves. That rotation will also
drive the connector into any adjacent plugs. My mini disk is small
and the angled jack will need to extend beyond the side of the case,
exposing it to anything near the case. If the connector doesn't
rotate or force is direct the leverage would be at the max and apply
pressure to the jack causing fatigue.
The straight connector would be less likely to rotate in the jack
and the force from any angle other than right angle would cause less
stress on the jack. Since it is inline with the case it should be
less likely to be pushed to the side. Most handling is in and out
of a pouch for the minidisk with the cables facing up.
Anyone have strong preferences for either type connector?

Incidentally you folks have been very generous to my questions and
it's time I came out of the closet, further posts will be signed
with my name . Another reason for posting my name is because when I
did a spell check on the message the suggestion for 1GDW was GOD!
