In theory it sounds like a good idea but in reality it's a bit of a 
waste of time,
a lot of processing in a daw is at 24 or 32 bit anyway.
It's better to record at a higher bit/sample rate, do your editing etc 
then "downsample" at the last possible moment. ie: before burning to 
disk.
