OK, I did just rake leaves (after being chastized in the group last
spring), and my wife used some rotting birch logs as part of holiday
decprations, so we'd just stired up the litter-dwellors.  I've got a
few of these critters stuck to a piece of tape, so when I can find a
microscope w/camera, maybe I can get a positive ID.

I uploaded one still that I got that shows the leg segments:
