I have a strange question I hope you can answer for me. I live in rural SW
Missouri. I couple of nights ago my neighbors and I noticed someone
screaming "help me!" from a little distance away. We couldn't tell exactly
where the sound was coming from but based on the breeze that night we felt
it was less than a mile away. It sounded like a young boy screaming "help
me!" and then occasionally just a scream. It sounded very much like a
panicked child. We searched several hundred acres of pasture looking for
someone in trouble. The next day an old farmer who lives nearby told us he
has what he believes to be a bird on his property that sounds like a small
boy yelling for help. Guests at his home have definitely noticed it. Is
there such a thing as a bird or animal that could make this sort of
noise? We of course never found a young boy in trouble. Thank you for
your help.
