In the past I've heard mention of using an umbrella as a reflector/substitute for a parabola. I'm going to be in New Guinea for a month and am wondering just how much I would be giving up be leaving my non-folding parabola behind. I know what I would be getting with an umbrella - dual purpose, easy to pack and to carry - especially considering the other stuff I will be carrying. Is there anybody out there who has really done this "on safari" so to speak? -- Chuck ======== Chuck Bragg, Pacific Palisades, CA Membership Chair Newsletter Editor Santa Monica Bay Audubon Society www.smbas.org ======== ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ |
