I have one of their premium pairs with the omni and Cardioid elements
and the phantom power adapters. They are certainly no quieter than the
ECM-MS957, probably noisier. And they are less sensitive. In other
words, suitable for recording louder sounds, but not that useful for
quieter ambiance. The omni elements are a little better than the
cardioid, but not by much.

They are really a product for the stealth concert recordists. Who are
more worried about how loud a sound they can stand.

Their stereo is less well defined than the Sony, though I've not played
with them enough to be sure. Good stereo depends on mic arrangement, and
that's very flexible with these. Think of them more as two independent
mono mics that can be arranged in stereo pickup arrangements. In my
case, when I rewired them with the phantom power adapters that's exactly
what they became as they are not tied together in any way.

To my mind they are overpriced for what's there. I got them off ebay to
use for experimenting where a tiny mic is easier to manage. So did not
pay full price. Though by the time I'd adapted them to phantom power
there was some money tied up in them.
