Walt:
I certainly do agree with you that these "Palm Thingys" are useful for
keeping notes and for demoing sounds and photos - especially important in
my reincarnation as a graminoid botanist for showing close-ups of sedges
and rushes. One of their most endearing attributes is their zero-start-up
time!
I had rather hoped that by posting a Palm-recorded bird sound that I would
get someone in this group with more critical ears than mine to ACTUALLY
LISTEN to the sound file. Someone? Please?
Here is another of a Carolina Wren I recorded near a wedding on Saturday in
Mystic Connecticut on the Clie. This file is longer - about 1.3 megs.

It has been edited with CoolEditPro to: convert it to a REAL WAV file, and
to remove low rumble from nearby traffic. Remember, this was recorded with
the actual mic in the Clie, no manual gain control, no preamp, no parabola
or shotgun. But zero startup time!
