Phainopepla vocs

Subject: Phainopepla vocs

Here are the calls of a male Phainopepla that I recorded yesterday. The bir=
d started out with the typical pretty bird & squaaak vocs but about half wa=
y through he started a subsong-like vocalization that I have never heard be=
fore. This recording can be found in the Naturerecordists file area.

He was about 110 feet away and recorded with my Telinga and Sony MZ-R50. Th=
ere was traffic noise from a nearby highway.

Hope you enjoy it,

Jim
