Hi Robin

just wanted to say that although I can't advise you on the technical
questions (I'm more of a beginner than you are) I did enjoy the Hawaiian
recordings...brought back fond memories as I watch the snow fall on a
relatively balmy -20 evening.

On the mystery sound posted on that site, my guess is insects of some sort,
maybe cicadas...the pattern sounds right, but things sound severely
distorted.

Thoughts from others in the group?
