Without commenting on your abilities to build such things, there is a
lot more to a commercial product than just building it.
Could you build such things in a way that would turn a profit for your
company? That's what a commercial product has to do. The marketing, the
fit and finish of the product can easily be far more important than it's
function to how well it sells. It also means supporting your customers
after the sale and so on. It means in most cases competing with other
companies. It means having long range product plans to insure your
company has a future. This does result in design compromises.
Yes, I'm sure it's possible to build custom, one off products that will
beat mass produced commercial products in at least some ways. Building a
product that will win in the sales arena is not near so certain.
