Daniel, If you want an inexpensive good homemade porabola, try a segmented design. There are many ways to approach a segmented design and the only limit is your imagination. Corrugated cardboard strips with one edge cut into the shape of your desired porabola and glued onto a circular cardboard backing could form the base. Then flexible pie shaped sheet metal strips glued to the surface of the parabolic cardboard would form the reflecting surface. This would not form an exact parabola but it would focus most of the sound at your desired point. Coat the cardboard with a waterproof coating, mount your mic and start recording. Will be happy to try and answer any question you may have. Jim Morgan Prescott, AZ |
