Sonic Studios main thrust, I think, in his patent are the mikes are mounted outside of the ear, binaural meaning classicly 'in the ear'. DSM's are mounted on side of head just in front of ears. Then he says he matches mic's perfectly. Sonic Studios does use the dummy head too. From the wild owls I'm recording via the dummy head--the sounds are magnificent. disclaimer: I've only run the sounds through my Adobe Audition, Echo Audio Digital Interface via headphones. I have not heard my sounds recorded via DSM on speakers yet. Best, Rip Lyttle, from Poor Policy Central, Washington, DC |
