Re: the Mic2496, I'd be curious to hear a report from anyone who tries it out ~ I'd be curiuos to hear how it might be as a stand-along add-on to, say, my Sony PCM-M1 DAT deck (which will accept coaxial SPDIF). In particular I'm curious for a subjective evaluation of the relative quality of its preamps and convertors. I assume it's not at the level of my roommate's favorite, the Lunatec v3, but it sure looks a lot more portable and battery efficient -- a primary concern of mine.
